Full-time French-speaking Teacher/Governess required for G8, located in London, UK, from £50,000 — £55,000 gross per annum. Live-out, start June/July.
This role is only suitable for candidates who are fluent French speakers and have the right to work in the UK.
A British family located in Hampstead, London is seeking a highly experienced, qualified and professional teacher/governess to provide educational support for their 8-year-old daughter during school.
The young girl has Down Syndrome and requires a personal teacher/governess to support her learning at school.
The young girl attends a French-speaking school and is doing well, but requires additional support to keep her on par with her peers, the family are keen to find a wonderful teacher for her, who can become a great asset to her learning and help her achieve his goals.
The current teacher will be leaving at the end of the school year.
As a Teacher/Governess, your main responsibility will be to support her current learning at school and attend school and each class with her daily. After school, you will provide structured classes on any topics she is struggling with and provide fun and engaging activities in line with her curriculum and complete homework. In addition to this, you will act as an appropriate role model/mentor to the girl and promote good manners, teach etiquette, support her attendance at extracurricular classes and promote learning at every opportunity.
During the school holidays, you will plan ahead for the upcoming term, working on the upcoming curriculum, as well as revising from the previous term. You will create project-based learning opportunities and go on excursions.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Teacher/Governess (PGCE/QTS/) with previous experience working in similar roles, with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The ability to speak French is essential as all communication takes place only in French.
This is a live-out position and suitable for candidates located close by. No accommodation is provided.
The working schedule will mimic the school day and will be 5 days on and 2 days off (weekends off). The working hours will be from 8 am – 5.30 pm. During school holidays, the working schedule will be amended, with a later start.
International travel is required.

Start date is June/July for a handover. A starter date may be considered as long as time can be spent during the last few weeks of term handing over from the current teacher.
